So the playoffs begin: my fav seasonal powder blue "underdogs" take on the Indianapolis Colts in what became an awesome game that went into OT in the final :31 seconds of the 4th quarter.
*Manning above, as frustration becomes him*
LaDainian Tomlinson's groin injury - unfortunate event or necessary casualty?
Whichever it might be, as a result Darren Sproles gets more field time and he drives some awesome runs throughout the game. It looks neck to neck, quarter to quarter as the Chargers, 8-8, battle it out with the popular Colts, 12-4. The Colts have been on the radar as Peyton Manning was awarded his third Associate Press NFL MVP - Congrats to ya Peyton, but looks like you might get bolted this game.
We saw both great offense and defense on both sides, but the deciding play came about halfway through OT by the Chargers, led by Sproles and his hot feet, shoot 22 yards to the endzone - if the Colts were in the electric chair, he made sure to flip the switch on the way there. Its a double doozy - it sends the Chargers' confidence and morale skyhigh while stomping the Colts to get there - Peyton's frustration is the theme of the day as his team doesn't even get a whiff of the ball in the rest of OT.
Final Score? 23-17. Its San Diego's 5th win that stopped the Colts' 9 game streak dead in its tracks. Keep it up Chargers; its a great start on the yellow brick road to Super Bowl XLIII, but the work is far from over.
